Summer Spotlight: Planteneers

This summer, we had the pleasure of bringing Planteneers’ brand vision to life through a dynamic, nature-inspired interior for their new Aurora office. Our goal was to create a welcoming, modern environment that radiates Planteneers’ commitment to growth, sustainability, and innovation in plant-based food. From custom moss installations to dimensional lettering, this project seamlessly integrates natural elements into a contemporary startup aesthetic.

Bringing the Brand to Life: Dimensional Lettering

The journey into Planteneers begins with a striking dimensional logo, prominently displayed in the foyer. Using premium materials and careful craftsmanship, we fashioned the logo into a statement piece that greets visitors and staff alike. This dimensional lettering captures attention immediately, setting the tone for the experience Planteneers aims to provide—a focus on quality, precision, and environmental impact.

Lush, Living Statements: The Handmade Moss Walls

At the heart of this project are two handmade moss wall installations housed in the main reception area and laboratory hallway, respectively. With this element, we aimed to introduce a natural, vibrant green ambiance that harmonizes with the indoor space. Various types of real moss were selected to achieve a rich tapestry of textures and colors, which are encased in a sturdy, galvanized square steel frame. The blend of moss species offers an authentic, multidimensional aesthetic, echoing Planteneers' dedication to sustainability and growth.

Adding an extra layer of impact, illuminated lettering is incorporated into the moss wall, giving it a warm glow that complements the natural green tones and emphasizes the brand message. This illumination brings the wall to life, casting a subtle yet captivating ambiance.

The Art of Assembly: Crafting the Moss Walls

Creating the moss walls for Planteneers was an exciting, unique challenge that allowed us to push our creative boundaries and explore new techniques. While we’ve worked with a variety of materials before, this was our first time assembling a large-scale moss installation. We knew this piece would be central to the foyer's transformation, so we approached it with meticulous planning and attention to detail.

The process began with careful selection and preservation of multiple moss varieties. Each type was chosen not only for its texture and color but also for its durability in an indoor setting with minimal maintenance. We aimed to create a lush and visually varied surface, selecting moss species that would harmonize while adding depth and dimension.

Once our materials were ready, we faced the challenge of arranging and securing the moss within the steel frame. This required precision and patience; each moss section needed to fit snugly to maintain the wall’s seamless look. Being creative with the design patterns was essential, as was balancing the arrangement so it looked both natural and cohesive.

The addition of illuminated lettering added another layer of complexity. We carefully routed spaces for the lighting elements, ensuring they were securely embedded and evenly distributed to cast the perfect glow across the moss wall. The lighting components were then concealed with smaller pieces of moss to create the illusion of the lettering simply existing within the moss. Every element—from the moss to the lighting—needed to work harmoniously to capture the living, breathing quality we envisioned.

Wood Accents: Bringing Organic Texture

No nature-inspired design would be complete without the warmth of wood. To deepen the organic feel, we introduced large CNC-routed wood accents in the main hallway These wooden elements create a grounding effect, balancing the vibrant greens of the moss wall and enhancing the foyer’s overall aesthetic. The CNC routing process allowed us to achieve precise shapes that resonate with the natural textures of the moss, while also aligning with Planteneers’ modern, clean brand ethos.

Conference Room Acoustic Panels

To enhance the conference room’s functionality and aesthetics, we designed and installed a honeycomb-patterned wall featuring acoustic panels. This feature not only serves as a visual focal point but also significantly improves the room's acoustics, creating an ideal environment for focused discussions and presentations.

The Outcome: A Lasting Impression

Through each element—the bold dimensional logo, the lush moss walls, the warm wood accents, and the honeycomb acoustic panels—we’ve crafted a space that speaks to Planteneers’ vision of sustainability and innovation. This transformation goes beyond aesthetics, creating an environment that is both inspiring and functional, where nature and modern design converge. The result is a foyer and workspace that leaves a lasting impression, embodying Planteneers’ commitment to growth, harmony, and forward-thinking design.
